Tamil Nadu cabinet has cleared a proposal from Tyre major CEAT to set up a manufacturing facility in the state and officially signed a MoU on Thursday, 5th July 2018 to invest Rs 40 billion in Tamil Nadu.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami and Anant Goenka, Managing Director of CEAT, who was in Chennai to sign the MoU.
The manufacturing plant would come up at Maduramangalam village near the industrial hub Sriperumbudur, about 40 km from here, in neighbouring Kanchipuram district.
According to government release, the investment will spread over the next 10 years and will give direct employment to around 1,000 people.
