In all the things that the Digital Revolution has impacted in the field of Human Resources, Learning & Development seems to be the highest gainer. It has been a while since every form of learning has found a place on digital platforms. One can enroll on MOOCs and gain to learn from some of the best faculties around the world over MOOCs and Webinars. Yes, technology has bridged the divide between the student and the professor, between those who want to learn and those who have knowledge and content to share. Technology has not just enabled traditional learning forms of Classroom to be available to a wide set of audience without the divide of geographies, there are new modes and delivery formats altogether that are now easily available to most. At this point let’s take a step back and understand what does Digital really mean? Does it mean Automation of existing processes? Does it mean delivering learning programs through Technology? Does it mean a shift from Hi-Touch to Hi-Tech? The answer is Yes, however incomplete. Yes, Digital includes all these terms, but is not restricted to these. Digital before everything else is a change of mindset. A sharp shift which is characterized by openness to adoption of new ideas and ways of working. The reality today is that whether we agree or accept or not we are interacting with a multi layered digital environment. Digital has pervaded each and every aspect of our personal and professional lives in more ways than the generation before us could have imagined. Generation – now this is a word that we will be discussing in detail shortly.
