Sapient, which was acquired by French advertising major Publicis in 2015 for $3.7 billion, plans to double its headcount to nearly 20,000 in India in the next three to five years. – ETtech/May 19
Currently, Publicis Sapient has 10,000 employees in India and focuses to create a core talent pool for digital transformation at its India office.
“India has always been a very strategic part of the business. Our focus is very much on making sure we are absolutely looking for the best engineering talent. We are looking for the engineering talent that really want to be at the forefront of changing industries and businesses and working on really complex problems,” said Nigel Vaz, CEO, Publicis Sapient
Vaz added, “India is a good consumer experience market. …what is really interesting is India has almost changed YouTube into a television platform. They are essentially using it instead of TV on a mobile device. So as we look at the trends like that, it provides really interesting inputs to other markets around the globe,”
Vaz pointed out, “Today, technology is about the value and about differentiation, it’s right at the heart of the organization. So if you think about engineering and the role engineering plays in an organization now, it’s suddenly gone from a backroom function to right in the core of the business,”
