John Deere appoints Shobha Pandey as first female Factory Manager
Before assuming the role of Factory Manager, Shobha most recently worked as a Regional HR Business Partner, Amod Joglekar succeeded her as the HR/LR leader.

John Deere, a global leader in products and technology, elevates Shobha Pandey as Factory Manager for its Pune Plant from April 1, 2024, marking her as the first female Factory Manager in India.

Before assuming the role of Factory Manager, Shobha most recently worked as a Regional HR Business Partner, Amod Joglekar succeeded her as HR/LR leader.

Welcoming Shobha to the leadership team, Manoj Verma Factory Manager, India Tractors said, “It’s my honour to congratulate and welcome Shobha Pandey to the small-tractor leadership team in the Asia-Pacific region. Shobha has assumed her new office on April 1.”

In her new role – Shobha with her acumen and leadership – will add to this commitment by leading our India-focused factory operations.” he added.

Manoj further said, “I have known Shobha for a few years now and admire her trailblazer quality that’s unique, inclusive, and has brought her much recognition both, at home and internationally. “

“In her previous roles, she’s forged the arenas of learning and leadership development, labor relations, program management, and championed the region’s diversity, equity, and inclusion programs keeping teams invested to build an everyday high-performance culture at the workplace. Her move to take on a brand new set of operations-focused responsibilities is bold, and I’m committed to support her.” he further added.

Shobha has been associated with John Deere for 17 years and worked in various HR leadership roles. At John Deere, she pioneered leadership effectiveness programs, workforce optimization, and diversity initiatives, showcasing her ability to navigate complex organizational challenges.

With over 22 years of experience, Shobha’s expertise in HR generalist skills and organizational development enables her to mentor management teams on complex issues, guiding them toward HR transformation

Before joining John Deere in 2007, Shobha was associated with Society of Women Engineers in India as ICC Co-Chair and earlier, she was part of TATA AutoComp Systems Ltd., Garware Bestretch Limited, OS2i, and Tata Yodogawa Steels Ltd.

Shobha is an alumnus of Xavier Institute of Social Service. She has completed her Mathematics Hons from Miranda House College.
