
Global Pharma, Lupin Limited (Lupin) has announced the appointment of Rakesh Bhardwaj as Chief Information Officer (CIO).
In general, The Chief Information Officer (CIO) holds a pivotal role in modern organizations, especially in today’s digital age where information technology (IT) plays a critical role in business operations, strategy, and innovation.
Rakesh will be stationed in Mumbai and will be responsible for taking charge of Lupin’s worldwide Information Technology division and leading the company’s digital transformation efforts.
Commenting on the appointment, Ramesh Swaminathan, Executive Director, Global CFO and Head – Corporate Affairs, Lupin said, “We are pleased to welcome Rakesh to Lupin, further enhancing our IT foundation.”

With a wealth of expertise spanning more than three decades, he brings valuable experience in establishing and overseeing advanced global IT teams and systems for major global enterprises.
Rakesh’s most recent role was as the Group Chief Information Officer at Ola. Before that, he held leadership roles at renowned organizations such as Cognizant, Microland, General Electric, and BISIL.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from Gulbarga University, Karnataka.
