Mumbai Swiggy delivery team on indefinite strike, seek pay hike
The strike was started on October 8 and has since then affected the services of Swiggy in the Mumbai region. Meanwhile, Zomato’s services haven’t been impacted yet by the strike.

An Indian online food ordering and delivery platform, Swiggy delivery team is on indefinite strike as they are seeking pay hike.

The strike was started on October 8 and has since then affected the services of Swiggy in the Mumbai region. Meanwhile, Zomato’s services haven’t been impacted yet by the strike.

One User said, “If you’ve been facing delayed delivery times + “Instamart unavailable” / “unserviceable in your area” messages all weekend, it’s because of the Swiggy strike in Mumbai. Sad to see no coverage of this and neither any word from @Swiggy. Customers deserve more clarity!”

There are various people who took to social media platform X (formally Twitter), One Twitter user said, “@SwiggyInstamart the Andheri west (Lokhandwala) store of Instamart is closed for hours now. Any updates on when will it open again? PIN code 400053″

Another user wrote, “Hey @SwiggyInstamart @Swiggy @SwiggyCares, explain to me how adding products and removing them makes your Instamart closed and open. Let me guess, you want to charge a rain surcharge on Swiggy Instamart orders. You don’t want the order price to be 200 and give free delivery.”

Meanwhile, India’s largest digital distribution network for Internet Companies, PickMyWork has onboarded over 8 lakh gig workers fostering employment opportunities.

The company is at the forefront of the digital gig economy and has announced its ambitious plan, which includes expanding its operations to over 20 states across India.

Commenting about the development, Vidyarthi Baddireddy, Co-funder and CEO, PickMyWork, said, “PickMyWork’s phenomenal growth represents a positive trend, underscoring the widespread acceptance of gig work as a transformative force in today’s economy.”

“We’re not just expanding; we’re pioneering a new era of the industrial workforce where flexibility and opportunity converge”, Vidyarthi Baddireddy added.

Vidyarthi Baddireddy further added, “Our journey wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering dedication of every member of the PickMyWork family.”

“It’s their relentless pursuit of excellence that has driven our success. With this incredible foundation, we’re not just confident; we’re determined to extend our reach to even more states, empowering gig workers and businesses across the nation”, Vidyarthi added.
