A few users took on the social media saying, “Epfo member passbook does not open do some….”

Steps to check EPF Balance on EPFO’s website:
- login on https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login…
- Enter the username (also known as UAN) and password.
- Once logged in, the details on the concerned employment can be selected. Post this the member can view the EPF balance.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation earlier warned its members not to share critical details about their EPF account, personal information, or OTP over the phone or online.
EPFO’s earlier tweet mentioned, “Never asks for any money through WhatsApp or social media, etc.” for any service and also recommended members not to reply to calls or texts requesting personal information or sharing OTP since this could lead to fraud.
EPFO has announced this due to the growing threat of EPF-related OTP scams and other issues, also to minimize fraud. EPF members should not share personal information like their Aadhaar card number, PAN, bank account number, or UAN number with anybody on WhatsApp or social media, according to the EPFO advice, because they risk losing their money.
People can contact through its official website, www.epfindia.gov.in, with any questions, suspicious calls or messages, or other issues.
The EPFO also shared the two-way mechanism for declaration of Principal Employers and Contractor Establishments:
- Principal Employers registered with EPFO can be declared by the contractors.
- Principal Employers not registered with EPFO can be declared by the contractors.
- Contractor Establishments’ are allowed to declare particulars like contract tenure, contract/work order document, and UANs of the employees deployed.
