
In the fiscal year 2023-24, An Indian multinational conglomerate, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) augmented its workforce by 10 percent, with nearly 8,000 new hires.
Looking ahead, L&T intends to continue this expansion trajectory until 2025-26. This strategic move underscores the company’s commitment to growth and development, positioning itself to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
By bolstering its manpower, L&T aims to strengthen its operational capacity, meet increasing demand, and further solidify its standing as a leader in the industry.
The engineering major’s Chief Financial Officer R Shankar Raman said, “We will continue to hire people till 2025-26 so that as a company we are well prepared to plan out the next five years of our journey and to ensure that our current order book is executed in time.”
Other Companies Hiring Plans
India’s third largest IT services-providing company, HCLTech plans to hire 10,000 freshers in the fiscal year 2025. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is targeting to enroll a comparable number of new graduates in FY25 as it did in FY24, around 40,000.
On the other hand, Wipro has delayed the campus hiring and it will not start anytime soon.
Saurabh Govil, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Wipro said, “Campus hiring is a combination of looking at demand, utilisation, and when the hiring is going to happen. We have significantly improved our utilisation this quarter, it’s an all-time high.”
“We are still to finish with all those offers. We have promised and will first ensure all those offers are honoured before we go and hire somebody else. That’s the plan as we move forward”, the report added Saurabh saying.
He further said, “We will induct freshers in this year and I don’t have a number right now. It will depend on demand as the macro environment continues to be uncertain.”
