
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended three accused including an Enforcement Officer of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Jamnagar (Gujarat) along with a consultant/ middleman and his son while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.10 lakh, demanding for pending EPF related issues.
Additionally, the CBI registered a case against the accused Enforcement Officer, EPFO, Jamnagar, and the Consultant in Mithapur, Dev Bhoomi Dwarka (Gujarat) on a complaint.
It was alleged that the accused demanded a bribe amount for pending EPF-related issues about the firm of the complainant engaged in supply of unskilled labour to a private company at Mithapur.
CBI laid a trap and the Enforcement Officer, EPFO, Jamnagar was apprehended while accepting illegal gratification of Rs.1.10 lakh from the partner of a firm of the complainant through a Consultant/ Middleman and son of the Consultant based at Mithapur who was also apprehended.

There are further searches that are being conducted at the premises of the accused at various places in Devbhoomi Dwarka, Jamnagar, and Rajkot.
