He said in a LinkedIn post, “It’s been a tough time for the tech industry because of the layoffs. I faced hundreds of rejections during this time for various reasons. I had been on a job search since July 2022. I was surprised that getting a job despite being experienced was difficult compared to when I was a fresh graduate.”
“Applied to 150+ companies got a response from ~10 of them, and interviews scheduled at 6 companies. Amazon Scotland – Cleared all rounds and had a final interview scheduled for SDE role (hiring freeze in the org that I was applying for)”, the post added.
He further said, “Google India – Rejected in one of the DSA rounds. 3 mid-sized startups – Ditched me after final rounds (due to hiring budget issues, which should have been discussed before giving me “Take Home Assignments”, 60+ hours WakaTime doing them).”
“Finally, things worked out at Fynd (Shopsense Retail Technologies Ltd.) and I joined it last month. If you’re also on a job search and especially if you’re a fresh graduate looking to start your career then don’t get discouraged”, his post said.
The post said, “The only intention to write this post is to acknowledge that things are not working as they were in the past and it’d take extra efforts to grab a job and you’ve to constantly work on your skills and make meaningful connections. Just do your work, give your best, and leave the rest to God.”
“I’m open to reviewing your resume or having a chat if you’ve any doubts about anything related to interviewing. Just keep in mind, I have ~2 years of experience and have worked as an SDE in the web dev domain”, the post concluded.
