Wipro files complaint against ex-healthcare head for breach of contract
Shortly before the resignation was to be effective the employee had also uploaded multiple Wipro files and sent them outside Wipro to his personal email account.

IT giant, Wipro has filed a complaint against an ex-healthcare head for breach of contract for violating non-compete covenants in his employment contract by joining Wipro’s direct competitor Cognizant.

Moreover, according to the report of the TOI, Wipro’s complaint was against the employee Mohd Haque for allegedly breaching the non-compete clause in his employment contract.

Haque is accused of sharing Wipro’s confidential information with competitor Cognizant, a move that could potentially expose Wipro to significant risks.

Evidence presented in the complaint suggests Haque used his personal Gmail account to email proprietary information to Cognizant, a direct violation of his employment contract.

On his resignation, Wipro had asked Mohd Haque intent to join the competitor company Cognizant which was kept confidential, and then joined Cognizant after his relieving from Wipro.

As per the terms of his employment agreement, Haque agreed “to pay Wipro such sums as would be equivalent to his gross remuneration earned by him during the last twelve (12) months of service with the company” if he violated his noncompete covenant.
