After Meta and Google, The three leading companies Amazon, Bosch, and Tata Steel collectively may lay off over 4000 employees.

Amazon announces job cuts in Buy with Prime division 

E-commerce giant Amazon is reportedly laying off about 5 percent of its employees at its Buy with Prime unit. This will impact nearly 30 employees of the company. Recently, the company sacked several hundred employees from its Twitch live-streaming platform and Audible audiobook unit.

Bosch plans to cut 1,200 jobs by the end of 2026

A leading global supplier of technology and services company, Bosch plans to cut 1,200 jobs by the end of 2026 from its software development division amid a weakened economy and soaring inflation. Moreover, the layoffs at Bosch will impact 950 positions in Germany.

Tata Steel To Cut 3,000 Jobs In UK

According to various media reports, An Indian multinational steel-making company, Tata Steel is planning to cut 3000 jobs in the UK. The company is planning to shut down two blast furnaces.

These blast furnaces are causing a lot of pollution is not bad for the environment so the company has decided to shut the furnaces leading to an impact on the positions.

The UK government provided £500 million at the end of last year to fund the production of “greener” steel.

Other Major Layoffs

Recently, YouTube, a part of the Alphabet family, has reportedly let go of around 100 employees. Moreover, Google has sacked around 1,000 employees in a fresh round of layoffs.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook has reportedly sacked 60 employees particularly those in Technical Program Manager (TPM) roles. So far in 2024, there have been 115 layoffs at tech companies with 18,510 people impacted (974 people per day).
