According to the reports, The new policy has been communicated to staff at one of Samsung's through a memo.

AI tools have captured the public imagination for their ability to automate customer service, write text and generate code. The company has various different reactions to it.

To boost its productivity, Akash Nigam, the founder of Genies asked its employees to use the Artificial intelligence-powered chatbot ChatGPT to save time and improve efficiency.

According to the reports, Akash Nigam is spending $2,400 around Rs 1.63 lakh monthly on ChatGPT Plus accounts for all of his 120 employees.

He is also encouraging every team from the research and development, engineering, product, finance, design, and accounting to learn how to use the AI chatbot to automate monotonous tasks.

“You really got to find time to like learn this skill, because it’s gonna be really important moving forward,” he said.

A South Korean multinational electronics corporation, Samsung has banned its employees from using ChatGPT & other AI tools.

According to a Bloomberg report, The new policy has been communicated to staff at one of Samsung’s through a memo.

As per the report, The memo sent by Samsung read, “We ask that you diligently adhere to our security guidelines and failure to do so may result in a breach or compromise of company information resulting in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.”

Samsung’s memo to employees read, “Interest in generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT has been growing internally and externally. While this interest focuses on the usefulness and efficiency of these platforms, there are also growing concerns about security risks presented by generative AI.”  

“HQ is reviewing security measures to create a secure environment for safely using generative AI to enhance employees’ productivity and efficiency. However, until these measures are prepared, we are temporarily restricting the use of generative AI,” the memo said.

IBM stand on AI

However, IBM is planning to freeze the hiring for certain positions. The company expects that nearly 7,800 jobs could be replaced by artificial intelligence (AI).

CEO Arvind Krishna has specified that hiring specifically in back-office functions such as human resources will be suspended or slowed.

The company aspects that 30% of non-customer-facing roles could be replaced by AI and automation in five years.
