
According to Economic Times, the leading IT companies Wipro, Capgemini, and LTIMindtree have been updating the work-from-office policy.
The report has suggested that Wipro, Capgemini, and LTIMindtree begin at least 50% of the working days in a week.
Return to office (RTO) is a coordinated plan to safely bring back employees to the workplace. Companies are updating their policies to lure employees back to the workplace and Work from the Office (WFO). However, few companies are keeping the work-from-home option open.
Moreover, Ericsson in agreement with respective managers has mandated a “50-50 split” as per its hybrid model wherein “employees are expected to be 50% in office over a week or month.
As per earlier week reports, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has asked its employees to Work from the office 5 days a week from October 1, 2023 onwards.
In the official mail that reads, “As communicated by CEO and chief human resources officer (CHRO) in various townhalls, it is mandatory for all associates to attend office on all the working days (5 days per week if there are no holidays) starting 1 October 2023.”
TCS has become the first IT company to deviate from the popular hybrid work policy that gained prominence after the Covid-19 pandemic.
On the other hand, The founder and CEO of Australian software company Atlassian, Scott Farquhar doesn’t mandate its employees to Return to Office.
“Next, you could walk out of your room and quickly grab a delicious breakfast or get a workout in before work starts. The employees can enjoy a “quiet evening on top of the rooftop deck” after their work day ends”, it added.
Cognizant has also not mandated its employees to return to the office any time soon.
“We did express that social capital is important as we have freshers in the mix who will need hand-holding. It won’t be impactful if the managers don’t come to work. We will have a more natural progression of return-to-work,” Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S said during an earnings call on Thursday.
“Our flexible return to work is actually helping us get in more women to work as opposed to affecting them,” CEO Ravi Kumar added.
