Earlier in December, Gautam Adani took over the control of New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV.NS) as the company’s founders decided to sell most of their shares.
The Adani Group took control of about 65% of the Indian broadcaster. Now, NDTV has raised the salaries for all verticals and the appraisal process has been transparent.
The overall salary increase is 11.50 percent. The group has provided performance-linked merit appraisals. Additionally, NDTV has focused on younger colleagues, their compensation growth, and charting a career path.
Senthil Chengalvarayan, Executive Director, NDTV said, “As the NDTV Group embarks on the next phase of growth, it is our talented team that will be leading the way.”
“They are the primary force behind the success of NDTV, and we are happy to recognize their hard work and commitment with this year’s raises”, Senthil Chengalvarayan added.
Senthil Chengalvarayan further said, “Our aggressive expansion plan, which includes the introduction of regional language platforms and further inroads in digital, will present new opportunities for growth as well as new responsibilities.”
Earlier, Microsoft has not provided a raise in the salary of employees this year for full-time employees. Air India Increments are likely to be 8-10% to bring parity between expats and Indian pilots.
TCS’s average annual increase was in the range of 5-8 percent in India. However, during the course of the year, the total increase is in the range of 6-9 percent, after accounting for promotions and other event-based compensation revisions.
NDTV’s tryst with television began way back in 1988, when it produced a news and current affairs show ‘The World This Week’ for the Government-owned broadcaster Doordarshan.
The show proved to be immensely popular, and NDTV established its image as a credible private news producer. It moved on to become the sole news content provider and producer for India’s first 24-hour news channel, Star News.
