
Multinational software giant, SAP Labs in India is planning to will hire nearly 1,000 employees in 2023.
The hiring plans come in mist as the firm is also planning to open a new campus in Bengaluru by 2024-2025. It will accommodate an employee base of around 15,000.
Thomas Saueressig, Executive Board, SAP Product Engineering, SAP SE, Additionally, “We see a massive opportunity in India and which is why we are building another big capacity in Bengaluru.”
“We are hoping to launch the facility by the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025”, Thomas Saueressig added.
SAP Labs is located in Bangalore, Gurgaon, Pune, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. SAP 40 percent of SAP’s global R&D operations run out of India. Additionally, India is also crucial for SAP’s product portfolio.
Additionally, elaborating on the topic of AI Technology the company has built around 160 AI applications. The company will be scaling this further.
Sindhu Gangadharan, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of SAP Labs India, “Around 40 percent of the Global R&D for SAP is happening here in India and a quarter of the patents that come out from SAP is happening here.”
“That is the reason why we are doubling down our investments in India. Talent acquisition has been phenomenal for us and we will hire around 1,000 people this year”, Sindhu Gangadharan added.
SAP Labs Layoffs
According to the reports of money control, SAP Labs in India is also laying off around 300 employees, or 2% of the total employee count. The layoffs are due to restructuring in the company.
Recently, SAP announced SAP Datasphere solution, the next generation of its data management portfolio, which gives customers easy access to business-ready data across the data landscape.
SAP also introduced strategic partnerships with industry-leading data and AI companies –Confluent Inc., Databricks Inc., Collibra NV, and DataRobot Inc. – to enrich SAP Datasphere and allow organizations to create a unified data architecture that securely combines SAP software data and non-SAP data.
