
The Telecom sector is likely to double the job opportunities and may hire 38,000 people in the current fiscal year from the expected hiring of 19,000 in the previous fiscal year.
According to Deval Singh, TeamLease Services’ Business Head for telecom, IT& ITeS, media, and government said, “The rapid revolution of new technologies like AI, the Internet of Things (IoT),5G, advanced data analytics and edge computing” is the driving force behind the present scale and pace in the telecom industry.”
“This has resulted in a shift in the industry’s skill needs, with a desire for applicants with cutting-edge talents” Deval Singh added.
The major openings will be in the fields of network engineering, network operation, data analytics, cloud computing, AI & Big Data Analytics, IoT, Mobile App-Development, Robotic Process Automation, and automation driving.
Shekhar Garisa, the CEO of Monster.com said, “The telecom sector had average growth (hiring) of 13% in FY20, a 1% decrease in FY21, and a massive spike of 29% in FY22.”
“Aggressive recruiting will be seen for roles with skill sets in AI/ML, Cloud, data compliance IoT, and cyber security”, Shekhar Garisa added.
The spike in growth will be driven by new-age skill-based profiles, whose demand has been enhanced by the anticipated rollout of 5G. Furthermore with a demand-supply imbalance of about 28% the combined need for over 150,000 roles in 5G.
