
A short-form video hosting service company, TikTok said that the company will be adding about 3,000 engineers in locations across the world including the US.
According to reports, The company is hiring employees when most Tech companies like Meta & Twitter have laid off thousands of employees.
According to the hiring plans of the company:
- Firstly, it also plans to hire contractors both in the US and at a content-moderation hub in Dublin, Ireland to monitor the app for inappropriate videos.
- Secondly, TikTok’s parent company ByteDance is also hiring employees working on TikTok and others helping ByteDance develop chips
Additionally, according to the reports, The company’s recruiters have approached people recently laid off from rival companies including Meta and Twitter.
TikTok Chief Executive Shou Zi Chew said, “We have always been more cautious in terms of recruitment.”
“We’re still hiring, although at the pace that we think has to correspond with the global challenges that we’re facing”, Shou Zi Chew added.
The company is also hiring at its major hub in Singapore, according to the report. TikTok has global offices including Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Dubai, Singapore, Jakarta, Seoul, and Tokyo.
According to The Wall Street Journal, The company is expected to increase the size of its biggest American engineering hub. It already employs more than 1,000 engineers.
