Last week, a french multinational information technology (IT) services and consulting company, Capgemini organized a Prithvi Mela in Hyderabad.

Sharing the information company said through a post, “We recently organized Prithvi Mela, a unique fair to inspire and empower all our employees to adopt a more environment-friendly lifestyle, at our Hyderabad campus.”

“The objective was to create awareness and engage our colleagues in various aspects of sustainability. The event was a great success, with Capgemini India Corporate Real Estate Services (ICRES) and Centre of Excellence (CoEs) showcasing sustainability initiatives for employees, clients, and partners”, the company added.

The company further said, “Our colleagues were delighted to explore eco-friendly products and stalls set up by their peers, external sustainable organizations, and NGO partners.”

The main motive of Prithvi Mela is one of its kind events to create awareness and engage employees with varied topics around sustainability, both internally and externally.

Capgemini plans to take the Prithvi Mela to other cities across the country with newly added unique elements. The company shares the objective of this unique eco-fair is to inspire and empower all employees to adopt a more environment-friendly lifestyle.

There were multiple employee engagement activities aligned with Capgemini’s sustainability agenda like cycling for energy, a photography zone, social media interaction zone, and many more.

Additionally, there were showcase zones where employees displayed upcycled and recycled products along with external organizations exhibiting sustainable fashion, accessories, and handcrafted products. Capgemini also invited local artisans to set up pottery zone, farmers market, and nurseries.

Capgemini recently announced its Q3 results. The company said that it will be slowing down on hiring going forward due to slow growth.

Capgemini has a significant number of employees in India. The company has over lakh-and-a-half employees in the country however the company doesn’t disclose a geographical breakdown of its employees each quarter.

The company has reported its attrition in Q3 was at 26.8 percent, down from 27 percent last quarter and 26.2 percent in Q1.

The company’s net addition for the September quarter was 6,300 employees, down from 11,400 the previous quarter. Capgemini’s total headcount was 3,58,400 as of September 2022, up 16% year-on-year, with a 19% increase in employees in offshore centres to 210,600, 59% of the total headcount.
