
Due to economic uncertainty, there have been many companies that have either laid off employees or they have taken cost-cutting measures.
Recent IT top major, Meta has declined facilities including a lack of snacks and cereals at the office, as well as the elimination of free food services and other benefits. However, Meta is not the only company that has reduced the benefits for employees.

Google employees outlining the elimination or reduction of several perks, including some of the company’s micro kitchens that provide employees with free snacks like cereal, espresso, and seltzer water.

There have been several comments that surfaced on this. One of the users who claimed to work for Amazon revealed that individual dustbins provided to all employees were replaced by one big dustbin that everyone on the floor was expected to use.
Another employee wrote, “Fitness startup from Pune, didn’t even gift a box of sweets to its employees for Diwali.”
“Collected 500 per employee to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in the pandal. I mean don’t celebrate if you’re so chindi”, yet another comment included.
Another comment included, “One of my prev companies had placed a timing on the usage of the coffee machine. You could only use the machines during the 10 am-12 pm to 3 pm-5 pm window.”
Another employee wrote that there were No more tissues in the loos. “Use handkerchiefs.”
However, Twitter users have come in support, a user Anand Sinha wrote, “This isn’t funny. Every founder knows how important survival is. What really matters is how you communicate and in such situations, transparency and honesty is p1. Posting this thread for likes is just so nonclassy.”
