
An Indian multinational information technology services and consulting company, HCLTech plans to hire 10,000 freshers this year.
Ramachandran Sundararajan, chief people officer, HCLTech said, “Usually the July-September quarter has the highest intake.”
“We will close the year with about 10,000. Whatever we did in H1 will do equal in numbers in H2,” Ramachandran Sundararajan added.
There is a sharp fall from the 27,000 it onboarded last financial year. Earlier, The company deferred salary hikes for their employees by one quarter.
Moreover, the company is to start its wage reviewing process for the fiscal year FY24. The revision will only apply to the junior employees.
However, the compensation review for the mid to senior management level employees has been postponed entirely in FY24.
HCLTech said that it has about 130 employees in Israel the staff is safe and the company is constantly monitoring the situation.
CEO and managing director C Vijayakumar, said, “We have about 130 employees in Israel. They are all locals.”
“We don’t do any business in Israel, but we have some software teams that are located there. They are fortunately safe and we are constantly monitoring (the situation),” C Vijayakumar added.
Additionally, Infosys will skip campus hiring this year as it has a ‘way to go’ on utilization. However, it is monitoring the situation every quarter.
Infosys Nilanjan Roy, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) said, “Wage hikes are announced and will be rolled out from November 1 across all employees.”
“Last year, we hired 50,000 freshers and hired ahead of demand…we still have a significant fresher bench… we are, of course, training them on Gen AI…but we still have a way to go on utilization, and at the moment are not going to campuses as yet…we will monitor this every quarter looking at our future projections,” he added.
