
Indian multinational steel-making company Tata Steel is organizing QUEERious’s first-of-its-kind competition in India for students of the LGBTQ+ community only.
The challenge will enable the students to participate in the inclusion of LGBTQ+ in the corporate world by sharing their ideas and engaging in a live internship with Tata Steel.
- All eligible candidates can apply using Register Now option on the event page. The event will be conducted in 2 rounds.
- Round 1 – After the Registration window closes Case Study will be shared with the participants over mail.
Participants will be required to share their responses in a presentation (ppt format, maximum 5 slides) over the same mail. Audio/video and prototypes can also be used in ppt wherever required) that covers the following:
- Executive Summary
- Introduction to the problem statement
- Analysis of the problem
- Recommendations
- The presentation format for the final round will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates
Round 2 – Selected candidates from Round 1 will be invited to give a detailed presentation on the problem statement. Details for Round 2 will be shared soon after the result declaration of Round 1.

- Target Audience – Students from LGBTQ+ Community ONLY
- Eligibility – Pre-Final Year, Final Year, and Batch of 2021 candidates
- Qualification – Graduation & Post Graduation in any stream
- Only individual entry will be accepted

Tata Steel onboards transgenders in the shared services division at Jamshedpur
Tata Steel has expanded its transgender employee base and onboarding 18 people from the community.
The company statement said, “In December 2021, Tata Steel’s West Bokaro division in Jharkhand had onboarded 14 transgenders as Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) operators at its mines to start the ambitious journey.”
Tata Steel Vice President Human Resource Management Atrayee Sanyal added, “I am glad to welcome new members into the Tata Steel family.”
“We will continue with our efforts to drive LGBTQIA+ inclusion and build a benchmark workplace for all. This journey of HR excellence has been extremely rewarding and motivates us to explore new horizons on diversity and inclusion”, Atrayee Sanyal further added.
The company has added these employees to its Jamshedpur, Jharkhand division. The total employment of transgender is 97. The location of their employment are Kalinganagar in Odisha, West Bokaro, and Jamshedpur in Jharkhand.
